Model 20 heads

Post by Trogg »

When did the head design change on the model 20? Some have 7 vertical fins in the middle and the "fuller" head has 3 horizontal fins. The rockers too are different with a diagonal arm and a earlier one with part diagonal and part straight arms.
I am putting together a 1954 model and the parts books show many changes around this time.
All information gratefully received.

Hi Paul It was the 1949-1953 had the ones with stand up fins. 1954 would different but the same as 1955 then from 1956 the drillings changed. email with photos sent.

And I have nothing else to say ;) but next time I will use the PM facility to send a message!

Thanks Roy. I have got 2 pairs of early heads and one pair of later heads, so I shall fix the later heads up. Got a couple of rockers and spindles missing but I haven't been through the box of bits yet. I have 3 more sets of crankcases. v.early 50? 53, 59 G9 and an odd half.
