Gearbox adjusting bolt

Post by Martin.S »

I don't have the 7/16"(043938) bolt that is at the top of the gearbox that has the hole for the adjuster bolt so I'm making one up in stainless, would anyone have one handy that they could measure the distance from the centre of the hole and the mating face to the engine plate?
Also the length of the 5/16" diameter of the other part - 042937 would be handy too.
Thanks
Martin

I would have thought it to be closer to 4" than 3/8"

Haha! I was answering the first part of the question! Just seen the second part and will measure it up in the morning and post back.

Cheers,
Bernie

Just measured both to be sure:

Underside of head to C/L of through hole is 0.375" on both parts.
Length of shanks is 2.875" for 042937 and 4.0" for 043938.
