Hello Folks,
Anyone know how much oil should be in the AMC Gearbox? My Manual is not clear and suggests 3 pints? Last time I filled it to the little oil level bolt, but given the leaks I have had as per previous posts, I would rather use a more accurate measurement.
Thanks in advance

That's why it pissed out. 1 pint is the normal amount or unscrew the level plug behind the kickstarter and fill till it just starts to seep out. Personally I find it easier and cleaner to simply fill the oil till it covers the return spring when viewed through the inspection hole.
3 pints is for the lightweight gearbox where all the cogs are high up in the shell.
