Competition for the Ugliest Motorcycle Ever
I saw this on Ebay and thought it might be the worst styled bike ever produced?

That said, it would surely attract a crowd of onlookers wherever you parked it?
Cheers. Bruce.

I don't think it's any worse than this one. Having been called the ugliest girl in the school, perhaps I appreciate more than outward appearances.thornebt wrote:I saw this on Ebay and thought it might be the worst styled bike ever produced?

Mine definitely did, and will do again. That said, it would surely attract a crowd of onlookers wherever you parked it?

I can't see that the viewing figures for 'Heartbeat' would have been quite so high if Nick Berry had been riding round on one of these. Cheers. Bruce.

I seem to remember you turning up on your Le Velo at the Hampshire Jampot Rally many years ago, everyone was wondering who on Earth you were, we know now. See you at Rushden Janet hopefully with the Model 31 if I can get the gearbox out to get it sorted.

Mike, that's where the photo was taken. I'd just arrived at Sparsholt so Nellie still had my camping gear on.

Gone are the days when you could walk round an auto jumble and pick up enough bits for £50 to make one of these. I quite liked them, almost brought one new. But did not like the colour.

Re: Competition for the Ugliest Motorcycle Ever
I've always been fascinated by the engineering in them and about 15 years ago I bought one unseen (first and only time I made that mistake) from an ad ('Needs recommissioning') in Old Bike Mart.
It had ice-cracked cylinder heads, stripped plug 'oles and no gearbox internals. Lesson learned and I couldn't be bothered to get in a wrangle with the seller. I sold it on eBay immediately, condition declared, at a profit to a guy who came 170 miles for it. It turned out he was a reg'n no. dealer.

I would imagine if you where a beat Bobby having to peddle around on a big pushbike all shift and you where upgraded to an LE Velo despite what it looked like it would have been the next best thing since bread. Ugly it may be but surely it was never as Ugley as some of today's monster bikes which look like they have a frame made out of water pipes with an engine attached to the inside??
