Burman CP gearbox rebuild
There cannot be a washer between the sprocket and the gearbox casing, the whole lot will lock up. I have just dismantled the drive sprocket and bearing etc. from a CP and this is how it goes back together. Assuming the main bearing and main gear are in place, first on is an 'L' sectioned ring assembled with the 'leg' of the'L' facing outwards, this is held in place by a flat circlip, next a washer 1/16" thick which abuts against the inner race of the mainbearing this is followed by a spacer 7/16" wide, next is the oil seal which fits in the outward facing 'Legs' of the 'L' section ring, slide on the sprocket followed by a 3/16" spacer, lock washer and nut. Not quite sure why the 3/16" spacer is there, but it does help when turning over the tabs on the lock washer, and of course changing it's location either side of the sprocket could alter the sprocket alignment.

Gearbox now back together and feels good - alignment from drive shaft to clutch sprocket now fine. Just a few mm out on final drive to rear wheel which the drive chain will cope with until I tear down the whole rear end sometime later.
