Steve Surby at AMC Classic Spares supplied a pair of bronze replacements for the black plastic bushes in my 'Jampot' rear units. Maybe he has bronze bushes for the front forks as well. Yes Stephen does sell them for front forks. They are £25, but are a good fit and provide a very smooth action.
The double lip seals available from club spares should keep the water out as well.
