Hi,
While I've been away on a trip for nine months, my 16MS 350cc has been patiently waiting in my garage for me. However, during my nine months absence, about half a pint (300ml) of engine oil has steadily dripped from the oil tank into the crankcase sump. Not that it's a major problem, as once drained everything seems fine, but is this something that anyone else has experienced when leaving their bike for an extended period.
Peter.

I would not even call that wet sumping it's only just over 1ml a day. There is many a twin owner who would love to have that rate of flow. My 500 single completely emptied it's tank when left standing unused, but I did leave it for 8 years!

Re: Oil seeping into crankcase sump
It is only a small amount, possibly caused by the tank being above the pump. Just thought I'd check in case there's another reason, but I'm happy enough as it is.

Of course Roy, I just drained it from the sump and put it back in the tank for you!G15 Roy wrote:Did i get any oil when I bought the bikeclive wrote:I would not even call that wet sumping it's only just over 1ml a day.
