matchless G5 wiring harness/loom
Hi there
Could anyone tell me the correct wiring harness or loom needed for a matchless G5 350cc as the one on my bike has been badly bodged.
Also looking for a rear sprocket if they are made ??? Long shot I know
Regards Cookie

You can buy a new loom from the club. I believe it comes fitted with with the multi-connectors for plugging onto the switches. http://www.amoc-parts.com/store/comersu ... duct=22338
Regarding rear sprockets, they are not being made currently, but some of us have been talking amongst ourselves recently to see if we can get some made.

I bought a two teeth smaller rear sprocket for my Model 8 from, I think, Sprockets Unlimited, so they are available. It came as a blank but my friend who fitted it (poptsova of this forum) machined out the centre and drilled and fitted it for me.matt cooke wrote: Also looking for a rear sprocket if they are made ??? It may not have been that company but they are at most of the shows I attend. They definitely advertise in Old Bike Mart and are one of the two companies who advertise there. The other may be Sprockets Unlimited, can't remember. So it was probably one of those two who supplied mine.
Anyway, they are available, even if they need to be machined to fit our wheels.

I'll modify what I said.ajsm18 wrote:Anyway, they are available, even if they need to be machined to fit our wheels.
I can't buy a finished sprocket ready to bolt on my bike. Which is what I would need.

52 Tooth sprocket to fit the 6" AMC hub. As fitted to many James, Francis Barnetts, even some Nortons etc. Made to suit 428 (1/2" x 5/16") chain. Hole in centre is 172mm (6 13/16").

I'm probably wrong but I don't think mine looks like that. I know it has more teeth but that isn't necessarily a problem.

The club had some a while ago (56 teeth) going cheap about £5 plus postage I think it was!! because one of the holes is drilled out of place I was told. Not sure how far out as it is a spare for when my original 55 tooth one needs replacing, I will find out then.
