This was a 1953 G3LS purchased by me at the tender age of 16 in 1961 - my first AMC. I used it everyday for a couple of years before moving on to a Norton ES2 (shock, horror, probe!). The G3LS was sold to a mate who used it for a short while before selling it to a breaker! (Monty Blewett of Highwood near Chelmsford) I remember going to see it with a rescue in mind but Monty (a real character)would never sell you a complete bike!I don't think Monty lived much longer after that and I heard that a dealer bought those bikes which were pretty well all together so maybe VPU 183 did get saved and is still out there somewhere - anybody know?
