If I had a pound for the number of times I've nipped out on my bike to the village shop for a pint of milk ...........
...........and come home two hours later

Yes but with you it's the lady selling the milk that keeps you and not just the ride home.

I'm the same. I've met the local breakdown recovery men so often I know their first names. ;)

Far better than your two hours spent waiting for the recovery vehicle.

Oooops! two minds with the same thought, Janet. ;)

P.S.
One of our section who shall remain nameless (as Peter is a bit sensitive), makes the recovery man unload his bike at the bottom of his road and pushes it the last 300 yds uphill so that the truck's amber strobe light doesn't alert the neighbours to yet another failure .

Only once did that Sussex section rider do that (so I'm told) , good job you didn't tell anyone about the time that he made the recovery man drop the bike off at the local Co-op so he could ride the last 0.5 mile home and when asked by a neighbour how the week end went , just said no problems !

you are giving all my money saving ideas away

It can be cheaper to come home on recovery than pay the petrol and ride

Opps , that's given the game away!

O.K. so I won't mention that another of this chap's money-saving ideas is that since both eyes need the same prescription of contact lens he only wears one at a time, making the pack last twice as long, thereby halving the expense..................
