WW11 Matchless G3L

Post by Trojan1 »

Hi
I hope someone can help. My nan was a despatch rider with the ATS and had one of the first Matchless G3L's

I have found a photo of her on the bike. I think the reg number on the tank reads.

471227
I would like to see if it's still around and running.
Regards
Mark

Sorry not sure how to add a photo for her and the bike.

If the bike still exists it is unlikely to still have the W.O. reg. no. on the tank. Has the bike got a civvi reg. no. also? It would also be a long shot, if the bike still exists intact, after serving most of the war and the last 70 post war years. If it had, there's also the possibility the bike would had been re-registered. Reg. no. lost or sold off as a cherished number.
It is nice that you still have the picture of your Nan and the bike. These pictures alone are of interest. I would like to see it, could you e-mail it to me on prewar@jampot.com many thanks, Rob Harknett club prewar officer.
