Perhaps not your fault. A pal brought a lift and found it very rickety. He thought, rickety enough for the thing to fall over. Bolt holes had far too much tolerance. He re drilled the holes for a larger bolts to fit properly.

Yes, some of the bolts were loose when it arrived but as per instructions I checked and tightened them. I've just had a guy who restores vintage bikes look at the damage on my bike for insurance purposes and he reckons that the lift I used was better suited to bigger machines such as Harleys with a wider frame, he might have a point!
