CSR 30, 600 AYB
Hi,
Trying to locate the owner of 1958, AJS 600 CSR 30, registration number 600 AYB, I believe this m/c was being used up until about a year ago. It was first registered on 10th January 1958 and the 1st owner lived in Taunton Somerset, he sold it after a short time to my brother, who eventually sold it back to the original owner, both are still alive and kicking. It would be great to see some photo's and maybe be able to fill in the first few years of its life history. i would also love to be put on the top of the list if it comes up for sale!

It looks like the MOT for this M/C expired on 9th June 2014, as Samuel mentioned and the Tax expired on 1st June 2014.
It would be good to know where it had the last MOT but guess thats not possible without a cert number.
I tried sending a very polite letter to the DVLA, with a letter enclosed asking if they would forward it to the present owner, they wrote back saying it would be in breach data protection, I still cannot understand how!

It must depend on who you get on the day - they did it for me. Might be worth trying again. Did you pay the five quid fee and complete the form? I bet that helps!DougF wrote:It looksI tried sending a very polite letter to the DVLA, with a letter enclosed asking if they would forward it to the present owner, they wrote back saying it would be in breach data protection, I still cannot understand how!

Hi Greg, I did not realise that there was such a form? and will be more than happy to pay a fee, will have to try again.
Rob is correct MOT tests are no longer required prior to 1960, just me not thinking!

Not much hope of finding the owner on this forum. Apart from guests, there are very few club members that regularly log on to help. Many will only be here to get help and advise.

Such a shame, I am also a member on the Ducati 851 and 888 forum, on that site so many people are willing to help with advice and spares etc, me included. Worth a visit just to compare.

Yes, I forget the number, it's mainly to get details of the owner of the other vehicle in an accident, but also for our purpose. There's a section to explain the reason for your request. My first attempt met with the same rebuff you got, but when done by the book and paying a fee, no problem. Leave the letter to be forwarded unsealed.DougF wrote:Hi Greg, I did not realise that there was such a form? and will be more than happy to pay a fee, will have to try again.
