Jampot Suspension - Locating ring collar(oil seal)

Having great difficulty removing locating collar ring for oil seal in jampot suspension....is it a right or left thread....and do I need a peg spanner..and if so where can I purchase one.......it seems to be stuck fast...tried heat ....and clamping in vice.......Robert

It's so long since I did mine that I don't recall the nuts in question, probably because I have the circlip type.

Hi Robert, it's a right hand thread,peg spanner yep good idea, don't know where to get one, had mine since the flood. Not normaly so tight as you describe, recken a warm up first and a soak in diesel for a day or so might help.

I made a peg spanner, two I believe, one large one small when I rebuilt my jampots originally, believe I used parts from a damaged unit and then a couple of cut off nails of the correct size. whereabouts are you? I'm in Kent you can borrow mine if local, mind you the better way once dismantled is to obtain some Ikon or Rockshock inserts, and never worry again!kind regards

Made my spanner with Mecanno, the screws fit perfectly in the collar's holes.
