Correct fitting of the pipe should hold it in place OK . Sealant only to seal, due to years of wear perhaps. I have never used it.
Using sealant will mean it will need cleaning out next time the pipe comes off , more wear caused, so even more sealant required.

System arrived this morning, looks good and an initial `try for size` is favourable, fit into head will be fine, centre stand will clear silencer when correctly tightened i think, I will report back on the sound and general quality, thanks for advice...

On my bikes where the centre stand hits the silencer I have marked it. Then taken the silencer off dented it and replaced. It's underneath no-one can see it unless you drop the bike. Problem solved. :lol:

Here was I, trying to think up a way to restrict the stand travel but your idea sounds eminently more straightforward!
