Airbox mounting

Post by ushbert »

My machine came to me in a fairly rough state and after struggling for years with carb problems, I have now decided to try and return things to the original setup.
The airbox in the box of bits that came with the bike was in several pieces and I have decided it's not repairable, so have now got a new airbox from the factory.

I gather that there must be a mounting bracket from the back of the box to the base of the battery carrier. but whilst I could mock something up to do the job, I would be grateful for some detail to do it properly.
Any information would be gratefully received!

Have you seen the info in Christian's archives?

Thanks Dave--very helpful. That's a section of the archives I've never accessed before.
Is the lower airbox mounting a one-piece bracket?

I don't know what the bracket's like (mines an MT350 not a Matchless) but I know the airbox is fragile so I'd be rubber mounting it to your new bracket.
Cheers Dave.
PS a friend of mine gave up and fitted an Amal concentric!
