Here in the Wey Valley, all has been a flurry of activity for the past few months, with Wey Valley riders attending the Jampot rally, the Alternative rally, & the Scarlet Pimpernels Highland Tour. This run starts from Popham airfield with a lunch stop before returning to Popham. This year however saw a change of lunch venue due the usual pub now being closed. Only 5 or 6 riders attended this year, ably led by Kentish Man, on a meandering route through the magnificent North Hampshire countryside. They were met by the Scarlet Pimpernel at the new lunch venue. Glorious Leader is out of action for while after a major overhaul, no riding until at least the new year, oh dear!!!
The Destroyer was the only Wey Valley rider to attend the alternative, but he did say that he had a good time catching up with Daft Vader & others.
For those of you still riding, be safe, be aware, & we'll see you out there, Matchless Maniacs & Ajay Wildthings.

Wey Valley notes

Here in the Wey Valley, we would just like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas & Happy New Year. Not much to report at the moment as with the onset of winter, most Wey Valley riders have withdrawn to the relative warmth & cosiness of their Garage/shed/workshops to carry out winter maintenance and/or heavy overhauls & repairs, although some Wey Valley riders joined the Hampshires & others at the Royal Oak in Holmbury St Mary, for the Autumn Change 'o' clocks run, where all enjoyed Tea & Tiffin & Venison. Glorious Leader attended in Miss Piggys car due to the riding ban enforced by his recent body parts overhaul, although he was fit to ride for the Hampshire Frostbite run.
Wey Valley riders joined the Hampshires on their frostbite where all enjoyed a meandering ride crisscrossing the Hants/Sussex border on a reasonably mild-ish day, to arrive at the Farmer Inn in Catherington for Sunday Lunch & Tiffin.
Some riders went home, as they are local to the Catherington area, but several riders retired to The West Meon for coffee & mints to round off a good days riding & camaraderie.

Be safe, be alert, & we'll see you out there, Matchless Maniacs & Ajay Wildthings!

Wey Valley notes

Here in the Wey Valley, the scribe apologies for the lack of notes, he has not been himself for the past few months, but he is endeavouring to pull himself together & start writing again.
To avoid upsetting anyone by forgetting a run or an event, we'll just say that we have had a busy riding season starting with Ivan's memorial run on Good Friday, & Wey Valley riders have attended several runs, rally's & events since, indeed, at the time of writing, Glorious Leader & Miss Piggy are riding somewhere in the Cotswolds on a VMCC event.

Our thanks also, to Lionheart & Auntie Wainwright for running the Fleet Carnival run, again, but due to a kerfuffle beyond their control, the midway run-pub-stop was found to be overrun with cyclists, so some riders disappeared following Kentish Man up some distant Hampshire Country road, Mallet & Youngman! however, decided to have lunch & tiffin at the Four Horseshoes, the Wey Valley meeting place, whereupon refreshed by the Landlords finest cuisine, carried on back to Fleet to join in the end-of-run festivities.
Vigorous Rider was seen, but not heard.

Destroyer has also managed not to blow anything up this year, yet!

Of the Scarlet Pimpernel, alas, there has been no sign, for quite a time.

Wey Valley riders will also be attending the VMCC West Kent run, & if you're going to Jampot, we'll see you there.

Be safe, be aware, & lets see you out there, Matchless Mainiacs & Ajay Wildthings!

Here in the Wey Valley, all is a flurry of activity, Wey Valley riders have attended the West Kent Run, The Jampot, The Popham Mega-meet(Where together with the Hampshires, we formed the largest one make contingent)& over August Bank Holiday, joined the Hampshires on their camping weekend in South Gloucestershire.

The camping weekend was a warm & relaxing weekend, although most people trailered or vanned their bikes, Destroyer rode in on his lovely blue Model 30. He did however, persuade Glorious Leader to take his tent, & his chair.

Miss Piggy provided ample Tea & tiffin to all there. A good weekend was had by all.

Wey Valley riders also helped Hampshire member, the Dark Rider, celebrate his 50th Wedding Anniversary with a garden b-b-q at his place.
