Sad News

Post by Grawding »

It is my sad duty to inform the local East Yorkshire membership the passing of our Section Chairman Brian Thompson.

After a short illness Brian passed away earlier this morning, we pass on our condolences to his family in particular Rachel and Karl at this difficult time.

Brian brought a new style of leadership to our club, a true sense of fun and novel approach to political correctness, his monthly news letters were light hearted and never missed an opportunity to highlight members mishaps or his own bumps in the road. His ability to speed through the monthly meeting business so the sandwiches could be distributed was legendary as was his Chairmanship of the Christmas Dinner Prize giving and raffle, jester hat proudly worn and wit in abundance, he will be greatly missed.

Regards,

Glenn

Re: Sad News - Funeral Arrangements

Post by Grawding »

Funeral Arrangements as of 30/7 – Service will be held at Chanterlands Ave Crematorium, Large Chapel, 1.30pm Wednesday 12th August. Only 30 people permitted inside – they will be contacted by Rachel. The service will be broadcast to those outside. Cortege leaves Glebe Rd at 1pm. Rachel and Karl have asked for as many motorcycles as possible to attend Glebe Rd to follow Brian. The AA has also provided restored vehicles to take part.
