Jampot update

Post by 196016 »

Jampot Update.

The site being naturally free draining is still firm under foot (or tent peg).By the rally we expect the site to be very dry please heed the fire regulations under site safety(see below)

Please DO NOT arrive before Noon, and definitely not on the Thursday.

The police are aware of the rally and the runs.
However, as with most police forces in agricultural and tourist areas, they do not want any unnecessary incidents to cause additional pressure on resources.
Watch out for the “Sunday Drivers” (even on Friday), boy racers, Agricultural vehicles, water canon (field irrigation), MPV’S, Horses with young riders, cyclists, caravans and anyone else myopic!

Runs
East London, Norfolk and Fenrunners have agreed to help with marshalling on the runs. Could a representative from these sections confirm names and numbers please.
If anyone else would like to help with marshalling, could you please contact either myself up to 31st July or Richard Cove our secretary up to 1st August or someone on the rally reception Friday 3rd.
The marshals briefing will now be earlier than in the programme. Could those who are marshalling be aware of this. Times will be posted in reception.
Marshals will also leave site earlier than programmed to be positioned.
High visibility jackets will be available, however if you wish to use your own, be aware that it will need to be orange.
The half way halt for both main runs will be in school playgrounds , this will give secure parking so you can leave helmets , coats etc in safety with you bikes – any one wishing to follow in a car , please find alternative parking near the schools.

The Off Road/Green Lane Run will take place on Saturday 4th August starting at 11.15am from the Rally Site and returning at approx. 3.15pm with a break for lunch. It is mostly on private land but there is still some public road use so all machines must be ROAD LEGAL. The run is suitable for trial/trail bikes
An indication of the number of members wanting to take part in this event would be helpful. Please phone John Lay on 01206 263912 to let him know how many.

Site Safety
Even though there has been a lot of inclement weather, please abide by the no open fire regulation.
The site will be covered by a fire engine and crew for fire safety. If the fire officer is not happy with anything fire related, he will advise you .please follow his instructions, as a blast from a high pressure hose often offends.

The policy regarding vehicles (two and four wheels) as with all Jampot rallies stands – all vehicles must be insured , road legal and all riders must have a valid licence to ride or drive the vehicle – no field bikes. No engines to be run before 7am or after 10pm.
