I recently acquired a 39/26T AJS. it came without a dynamo.
1) does anyone know the proper Dynamo?
2) I need the dynamo, drive sprocket and chain (i have the engine sprocket)
If anyone has a decent picture of how it mounts that would be nice also.
Thanks, Jim

Re: 39/26T dynamo ?
Hi Jim
Have you found Christians Archives? http://archives.jampot.dk/
This is the dynamo although any AMC type short body will fit: The fixing is similar across the range if you can find another to look at.
You may find these useful:

Check the 1939 part numbers for fittings against the conversion list above, then check out club spares using the new part numbers. Check out pictures of parts in say a 1946 AJS parts list, ( will still be using the old part numbers, look here for all these books. archives.jampot.dk The sprocket was used for many year prewar and post war. Its the same as the dynampo sprocket except, dynamo sprocket has two slots seen in parts list pictures. Two slots for the tab washer that locks on the dynamo nut. So make sure you use this special long nut , tab washer and circlip on the nut to hod the washer on.
