Matchless H2 1921 (help needed)

Postby VonSten » Mon Nov 04, 2019 3:19 pm

Hi guys. One of the early Matchless sidecar bikes has made its way to Estonia
picture : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Od12dxaurqTZWr9lRlrsK1MdddHBclzM/view.

I am writing on behalf of the owner of the bike who has some questions before he can start a restoration.

1st of all we would like to know what kind of stickers and decals originally were meant to be on the bike (it is probably missing one from the rear mudguard) and also where we could buy a replica decal kit for such bike.

2nd where was the speedometer drive originally mounted? Was it driven from the front wheel? Missing speedo drive is also needed.

The correct year can be confirmed by the frame number. A speedo was an extra. A speedo was not required in GB prior to July 1937. Check out the VMCC for early transfers. Their list will state years the transfers were used and where on the bike.
