Hi guys and gals,
The cylinder barrel I once acquired for use on my 1964 type of G80CS engine is fitted with an overly thick liner and is rather heavy. I know the original barrel #022298 had a much thinner liner. This p/n was still specified for 1963/4. However, for 1959--62 another cylinder barrel was specified for the G80TCS 600cc (Typhoon), #025287. Did AMC make a common cylinder for these years and just bored the 500cc to a smaller bore, neglecting the disadvantage of a thick liner? As is, the liner appears integral with the alloy casting and I believe it's genuine.
Thanks for your views.
