fork inner tube

Post by vincentvv »

Hello,

Does someone know the difference between the fork inner tube for a G80 and the inner tube for a CS model? Lenght? Thickness?
Looks like I need to renew mine or let them chrome again....

friendly greetings,

Vincent!

Hi Vincent, in 1954, tube fork inter part no 016322 was listed for all single except 16MCS and 18CS, which used part no 016377. I don't know what the difference was but I believe that later, when the 1 1/4 in forks came out, the CS models stayed with the lighter 1 1/8 tubes which were made from a stronger steel alloy. Perhaps the pre-55 models used a stronger steel for the CS models? I am not aware of any dimensional differences. Andy
