As for the last batch of G15CSR's well they made 95 of them, and not 50 odd and i have owned my one since December 1970. It used the same handle bars it as the export Atlas, and Manxman. It was what Berliner wanted at the time. My one goes well, and i posted some pictures onto the Jampot web site a while back. As for a gas tank try to find a later 1964 on G12 gas tank. Ask Walridge Motors as Mike may be able to find one for you a G15CSR gas tank, for the cafe race type CSR's.

John....do you really have the Beast of Berliner Part I?....the one that came with the High Bars? I mean really high bars....you can only be seen on that in period dress and hair cut

I guess the movie Easy Rider really did have a ripple effect throughout American society back then...and even the lovely British road bikes were not spared

I asked Mike the other night what he had and he is not parting with any of his....he said he sees them on occasion on eBay....I don't and I haunt the Canadian and UK eBays on a regular basis

I tried Baxter out in Marne Iowa and sent him pictures of the tank and he was going to look in his warehouse when he has the time...even offered up my lovely scrambles tank as a partial trade...to which he sniffed and said he already has too many of those

The handle bars on my G15CSR were the same rise height as the first export Atlas's and Manxman, and they are not that high. Some of the export Commando's even used those handle bars. I would have thought Randy Baxter would have plenty of the 2.2 gallon gas tanks, as there were about 4 different types, as fitted to the P11, P11A, G15CS, N15CS, and the Atlas Scrambler. I think i have over 12 of them my self. I have been collecting parts from America since the late 1970 till now. Now one wanted any of these parts back then, as it was deemed to be old British rubbish that no one wanted, so it was all sold of very cheaply. How times have now changed.

OK so you aren't speaking of the same ones they used on the Hi-Rider Commando...which are the same/similar ones used on the prior G15CSR late-issue bikes with the chrome-sided scrambles tanks

No my G15CSR is not fitted with those bars from the Commando High Rider. These are way to high. Also that bike was made much later. Look in the picture gallery and my G15CSR is pictured in the Comp bike section. These are the much earlier Atlas export type. i have always like those earlier type bars. I have a wideline featherbed cafe racer, and that low crouch, can be a real strain on your arms and hands. The Hi Rider is now quite collectable.

My other toy is an 02 Duc Monster 900ie with flat bars....I can't do clip-ons anymore... love the bike but my hands go numb from the wrists down after about 1/2 hour and the crouch leaves me crippled after a long haul unless I remember to gobble some preemptive aspirins ahead of the ride....I have gotten off the bike and crumpled in front of people because my knees won't bend back out....

when I look at 999's and other sport bikes I realize most folks see pure passion.....I see something that will render the same results as devices found in a medieval dungeon as employed on heretics

Yes even the Hi-Rider has achieved a following....I am not sure what bizarre muse is leading them...but I applaud their commitment with the same awe I would reserve for a flagellant during the Reign of the Black Death

but then given my latest pursuit who am I to point fingers

well on second thought here is one that illustrates....I have never seen a given vehicle's visual "line" head in more different directions than this....side panels cocked upwards, motor cocked downwards, tank is level, ski-jump seat, pipes kicked up...yikes!
