G15 MKII twin carbs, Amal listings show:
1964/65 - 389/087(LH) & 389/088(RH)
1966 - 389/241(LH) & 689/241(RH)
The bike has fitted 389/088 on the left and 689/241 on the right. Both rightside fitments from different pairings.
Apart from awkward access for adjustment I can see no 'running' reasons for changing, unless anyone has the leftside pair so we can swap!, or just 1 to match 389/087 as registered 1965?

Twin Carbs 389 Type
The 1964 to 1965 G15 and series had the Amal 389 series carbs with one float chamber and one with a chopped off Amal Monobloc. The 1966 version of all the G15 series then went over to the left and right handed Monoblocs. The adjustment can be really tricky, but Amal made special throttle and mixture screws to over come this problem. The throttle adjusters had different heads to them, and the mixture control had a head so that a spanner could be used to adjuste the fuel mixture. The carbs will work fine, but if total originallity is wanted then search out the correct ones. I found NOS chopped Monoblocs at Kempton Park a while back. To aid adjustment to the carbs on the chopped monoblcs type, and single float chamber carbs, get rid of the small straight fuel line linking the bottom of the carbs, and replace it with a U bend fuel feed. This should then aid getting at the adjusting screws.
