Matchless G12 1960
Mine - 1959 G12 - is (allegedly!) a deluxe and has chrome panels, dynamo and magneto ignition. No seriously, the engine number has DL suffix, so it was built originally as a deluxe. It didn't mean much though, the only differences I am aware of were the dynamo/alternator and magneto/coil options, apart from cosmetic stuff.
Correct exhaust is Megaphones for the twin pipe Matchless, unless you have (like me) the siamese set-up when single cigar type seems correct. On this subject, be careful about re-manufactured exhausts, they are usually (in my experience) a B***ger to fit without permanent damage to your tubes, knuckles, temper and relationship with the suppliers. (Ditto kickstarts !! even the Club ones).
regards,
Bob Rush
