A vintage freindly and "sensible" MOT station?

I live in the Isle of Man and have on loan from my brother our late father's 1959 AJS Model 31. I need to get it MOT'd and then taxed in the UK. To do this I will have to travel to Liverpool or Heysham. Can anyone recommend a vintage freindly MOT station with a "sensible" attitude that I can get it too.

Getting to and from the Island is costly and I don't really want to go backwards and forwards hence the need for them to be "sensible".
