Hi,

Does anyone know what size this box spanner is or what other tool I could use to access these nuts on a 1960 G12 Deluxe?

Cheers,

Andy

I use a 3/8" drive 1/4" W socket with a shortened extension on my G11. I don't know the G12, but it may have 3/8" studs which will require a 5/16"W socket. 1/2" drive sockets won't fit in the recess in the cylider head. The extension is made from a long version and is cut down to 3" overall. They are usually quite hard but a decent HS blade taken slowly will do it, a square can then be ground on the end.

Alan,
I think the studs may be 3/8th from the workshop manual. or 5/16th, I will double check that.

Thanks,
Andy..

Managed to buy one from A&R Sheldon in Stockport, delivered next morning, amazing. It is a new 5/16 box spanner and ironically is made by a firm here in Sheffield where I live!

Cheers,
