I have two flats on opposite sides...and a small amount of surface scoring.What goes in here?

Hello,
I think there is no problem regarding distributor end float : oïl pressure push it against the exhaust camshaft end. Normaly there is only one flat, not two. Regarding scoring, yes I have noticed this issue on aly distributors. As I have a rev counter, mine is a steel one, and is really smooth. Be aware to use the original copper gasket between crankcase and large chrome cap. If you use none, or a thinner one, the chrome cap rubs against the distributor, and the exhaust camshaft is stuck solid !
