Hello,
I got a new 12 V 3 phases alternator, and a "A REG THREE" to suit.
No problem for the wiring : the 3 alt wires to the 3 yellow wires of the reg, the black wire on the live side of the battery, the red one on the positive earth.
My wiring loom, from Colin Farrington is made for the old system, with single phase alternator, rectifier, and Zener diode. My wiring diagram is for 1964-on G12CSR, G15 with magneto.
On this diagram the green/blue wire from alternator goes to the rectifier and n°7 on lighting switch.
Green/Yellow goes to n° 5 & n° 6 on lighting switch.
White/Green goes to rectifier.
NW from rectifier to n° 2 on lighting switch.
Now, what I have to do ?
So, I have problem with wires colours : what means N, NU, NB, U, UW, NG, U, UR, UW, NW ?
Thanks in advance for your help !
J.N.

Maybe you should ask Colin his details are in his advert in Jampot magazine. He may not see this question here.

Best to double check with Colin, but it says the colour codes for 1957 to 1964 bikes are/were:

Colin F made the loom for my '66 31CSR and sold me a Powerbox that does away with the rectifier and zener, works fine.

Hi Jean-Noel,
The loom and Powerbox Colin supplied me were VERY easy to fit with the wiring diagram he also sent, and if I can do it ANYONE can, I know nothing of m/c electrics! Obviously the standard wiring diagram would not be of much use doing away with the rectifier and zener diode, but Colin's was easy to follow.
