Hello
I've just stripped my 1961 CSR to cure what I thought was an oil leak between the crank case halves but I think is actually a result of failed composite head gaskets. The bike has always had this leak since I bought it but I decide it was time to do something about rather than live with it. I don't know if the failure was due to the heads not being re-torqued after being put together but now it is all apart, I have decided to consider having an O'ring grove machined in the crank case around the filter tunnel and the having the scroll type oil flinger on the end of the crank turned down for an oil seal as per the new alternator crank engine build article in the May 2013 Jampot.
Has anyone any experience of these mods?
Thanks
CAB

Re: Filter tunnel O'ring and crankshaft oil seal conversions
Hello Christopher,
I haven't experienced crankshaft ol seal conversion, only filter tunnel O ring. This mod was done by T & L Engineering.
Kind regards
