Re: side stand spring
I seem to recall that somebody lost their life on the IOM Manx last year in an accident because he forgot to retract his side stand.

Not me Neville, the spring & stand are original as per when I got the bike. it does however have a rubber buffer pad on it rather like a very small door stop that was on it when purchased.

Re: side stand spring
Hi,
did a search for side stand spring mounting and the link quoted is dead. My side stand comes up so hard it has dented the exhaust and quite frankly is impossible to use, it retracts so fiercely it is impossible to get down without it slipping off your foot and retracting again.
Looking at the mount it can't possible be right, but there seems no altertaive place for the spring to hook onto. The spare and workshop manual show no detail, so where should the spring be placed?

Re: side stand spring
That solved the problem, now have a useable sidestand. I would never have found it under the oil and dirt if I didn't have the pic and knew what I was looking for.
