Just an observation. JohnT
Never thought of that John, might be an idea, thanks.

You don't want to be doing that as the cooler is best fed by the return pump.

What I am trying to say, this arrangement of having oil pipes virtually touching exhaust pipes is going to heat the oil up, the oil would be better if it was not heated. It gets more than hot enough by lubricating the engine without adding more heat.
Just a thought.

Yes, I know what you mean John, whatever route I go with the pipes... they will still be close to the exhaust.

Right, all sorted now.

I had to get a bit welded onto the short pipe, it now fits...

and had to make a new oil feed pipe. I bought a metre of 1/2" soft copper tube from eBay, filled it with solder to stop it kinking, and bent away.

It just about doesn't touch the exhaust, hopefully it won't get too hot. :?

Peter Morris wrote:I guess so Clive, I have just got soaked going to check, but neither of my footrests have the scallop. I looked at them on dismantling the bike and saw they were the same and not 'handed', but doubted myself when you mentioned the scallop, are both of yours scalloped?.
Peter i promised a picture. My health exercise got me to the garage today. Both footrests are scalloped, its not much but certainly looks professionally done rather than a previous owner job
The scallop just about shows:in the picture. I am pretty sure this was how these bike would have come from the factory.
