I have a Matchless G11 with a 1956 engine. After taking various bits apart to remove the engine to get it repaired, I have come to put the clutch back together. The lock washer for centre retaining nut is in poor condition and needs replacing.
The spares list shows a 5 spring 5 plate clutch.
I have a 3 spring 5 plate clutch and the lock washer is clearly different.
I believe I have an AMC gearbox.
Can anybody tell me what the correct code is for the lock washer for my clutch so I can order one, and also what spares list / diagram I would find this clutch in.
I have placed various photos under the pictures section, showing the clutch, old / new wrong lock washer, gearbox number.

Clutch / Gearbox Identification and lock washer
It is an AMC Gearbox & clutch. Comparing the serial number with those in the North American Section registry it fits into the 1961 range. The "R" indicates close ratio, probably from a CSR. The correct lockwasher, 040374 is a thin split lock washer, not a tab washer. Cheers, Don.

The new lock washer shown is for a Burman clutch and the worn out one I'm not sure about. The parts service do stock locking washers for the AMC clutch which is what you require.
