Can anyone tell me what the following marks mean on 500cc engine parts that I found during a strip down:-
Flywheels, G9
Conrod, 5
Inlet and exhaust cam lobes, H
At some time the bike was converted from a 350 to 500.
The crankcase is a G80S.
Are these parts from a 350 or 500?
I first posted this last year with only one response about the cams(Thanks)
Have I defeated the experts out there?!

Heavyweight single flywheels and conrod
G9 is the casting number and the flywheels for both 350 and 500 h/wts singles will have these, but will be balanced differently to allow for the differing piston weights.
If you get a lot of vibration it is likely that you still have the 350 balenced flywheeels fitted!
The H stamped cams are the std fit from i think 1954 on be slightly higher lift compared to the forebears. The SH cam was a later even higher lift cam.
There should only be 1 conrod per engine so not sure if the 5 is relavent? The conrod would be the same for both capacities anyway.
Hope this helps
