Can anyone tell me how to set up the Lucas cut out and voltage regulator unit on a 1955 Model 20.
At present the ammeter is showing 'full charge' all the time even when the battery is charged up.
The dynamo is original, but I have fitted a small modern battery into the original battery box.

Setting voltage regulator
My workshop manual gives the following figures for the MCR2 unit:
Regulator: contact gap 0.015" setting: 7,4-7,8V at air temp. 20C.
Cut out: top contact gap 0.025-0,030" lower gap 0.018" min.
Data:
cut-in-voltage: 6,3-6,7V
drop-off voltage: 4,5-5,0V
reverse current: 3,0-5,0amps
Hope this helps!
Regards.
