foot peg rubbers

Post by gtx469 »

Hello, it seems that I can find embossed foot peg rubbers for just about every brit bike except Matchless! Does anyone know where I can get a full set of MATCHLESS embossed rubbers for my 61 G9??? This seems to be a very elusive part compared to Ariel, Triumph, BSA and some others. Any help would be appreciated. Yes my bike did have these on it but are severely dried out and broken.

There is no such thing, AMC never embossed any post war foot peg rubbers. If your bike had a set they were either Prewar or one off's.

Really! That's odd considering this was a one owner bike who bought it new and those rubbers look like they've been there forever. So only the BSA/Triumph/Ariel/and others were the only Brit bikes that had logos on their pegs? No wonder I can't find them anywhere. learn something new every day.

Certainly would not have been embossed in 1961 as a factory item. Post some pictures for us to look at.

Same thing happened to a chum.
His frame had all the right numbers, but not necessarily in the right order.........although he did manage to rearrange them correctly.

They are a pre-war John Bull "dumbbell" pattern, most for sale now are plain
