Does anyone out there have any comments / advice on the following:
I have a 1956 engine (the oil pressure relief valve was omitted from that year) and the oil hole in the distributor was reduced to 1/32"
In the 1956 parts catalog the distributor, P/N 022385 shows it as having a 'small' flat machined on the side and what looks like a drilled 1/32" hole,
I ordered a new P/n 022385 oil distributor from parts and noticed that it no longer had the 1/32" hole and the 'flat' was now increased to run the full length of the bush.
According to the 'Year BY Year Modifications' in 1958 the oil distributor had a flat machined surface and the hole was omitted (this looks like the one supplied when ordering 022385)
Does the increased flat take the place for the 1/32" hole?
Has any one else come accross this?
I do not want to over-oil the top end nor do I want to starve it of oil.
Any comments would be appreciated

Yes, the flat replaced the drilling.
