What is wrong with the correct plugs, filters etc. I am sure the club has those. Most muck and worn metal will be non magnetic

I have just changed the oil and both filters and there is nothing the matter with the original sump and oil tank drain bolts I just wanted to put magnetic ones on the next time I did the oil and filters.

The sump and oiltank drain bolts are too small to fit a decent size magnet. You'd be better off fitting a remote filter on the return line. And/ or you can up-rate the system with an in-tank filter conversion using a Triumph Trident paper filter. Details are in the pictures section. Keeps the original look of the bike but with much improved filtration.

Thats's for '56-on twins. Shifter's is a '51 which has a much smaller drain plug 000575.
