Hi folks,
Just a question on jampot's!
My dad owns a 1950 model 20, built September 1950.
It is fitted with jampot's but a fellow classic bike neighbor pointed out this was incorrect,
It should have candlesticks? Jampot's came in 1951.
Just wondered if anyone could shed some light on the subject?
We believed the bike to be correct.
Many thanks in advance,
Iain.

Re: 1950 model 20 with jampot?
The new model year starts after the annual factory holiday in August so a machine built in Sptember would be a 1951 model.

Re: 1950 model 20 with jampot?
Built Sep. 1950 would be confirmed only by dating the machine numbers. Registered Sept 1950, only proves the registration date. The 1951 new model year did start production Sept 1st. 1950. That was to get the new 1951 model range ready for the London Motor Cycle show. Most 1951 models registered in 1950 are usual found to be registered Nov. / Dec. 1950.
Although the new model year officially started production Sept. 1st. I seem to recall it being stated, the factory also shut down for the summer holidays, starting the week in which Sept 1st fell. Perhaps that is stated in a book I had, I rediscovered in the loft yesterday for the 35th AMC. 1964 AGM
