I'm building a 55 twin engine from a set of bare crankcases. The oil distributor was changed this year and a metering jet was used. I haven't got this and am not sure how and where it is fitted. Am I correct in thinking that both 'alloy spinners' driven from the ends of the camshafts ( as in the 54 engines) are left out being replaced by the jet? Is the cap housing the oil distributor (021944) still the same as in previous years? The machining inside the tunnel is different so I assume one cannot revert to the pre 55 setup? The twin changes article infers the spinner was returned in 56 but with a bigger hole. Why did I pick a 55 in bits?
