Resilvering Headlamps

I need to resilver the headlamp of my Model 18. It has the original glass and seems to be crimpedto the reflector.Can the reflecting surface be resilvered without taking the glass out, or have I just got to unbend the metal to release the glass, prior to resilvering it?

The headlights of even our old bikes are relatively modern in that they are serviced by replacement the club spares scheme will be happy to sell you a new one.
