I have 1955 AJS 18S and with a dual seat but my other bike 1950 Sunbeam S8 has a single saddle I much prefer the single saddle. My question is will a single saddle from a earlier bike fit my frame?

Single Saddle on 1955 18S
According to the h/w 1955 spares list, a single saddle is available. But it is made to fit the unsprung and competition models, where the rear frame is fitted with studs to accept the rear springs and fittings for the front hinge. Since your bike is an "S" model the standard single saddle cannot be fitted directly onto the sprúng frame. But maybe it has been done anyway by some enterprising person, so please come forward, anyone?
Good luck!
