G80CS valve springs

Post by Lars E »

I´m restoring a 1967 G80CS and would need information where to find hairpin valvesprings of the correct type for it or how to do a coil spring conversion. Appearently valvesprings were changed in 1964.

Russell Motors stock a coil spring conversion kit. I know that, because I bought one across the counter there this very morning for my 1954 18S. Les, (I think it was he) told me that very late CS engines were delivered to them from the factory with coil springs rather than hairpins.

Thanks Charles for the tip. I have been in touch with Russells but unfortunately they don´t have any springs for the late G80CS.

I don't think they changed to coil springs in '64 my 67 g85 motor had hairpin springs when purchased?I got my conversion done at James Holland (JHS) in Bristol,he does not do much with the engines now but he may be able to help you out.
