Reproduction Norton Commando kick start might work. It wouldn't be hard to MacGyver splines from burman kick start onto AMC one if necessary.

Fitted to my AMC box. I had to machine the gearbox side of the lever to facilitate correct meshing of the inner teeth .
Interestingly, the original kick start should have had the same procedure as it has slipped on the shaft and munched the inner splines.

I don't recall the fixed lever being that much of a problem but only had the Burman box in for a couple of thousand miles. Putting it back in when I get the engine fixed over winter, so may find out!

I found that if the rest position of the fixed kickstart was too 'upright', I sometimes found my right leg caught between the kickstart on my calf and the footrest on my shin when moving off from a standstill. Moving the kickstart back a couple of splines on the shaft sorted it out.
