Time on my hands to go through my 'Stuff'

Post by Jdraper »

OK, question for you - what is this chaincase band from?

Going through my boxes of bits, garnered from too many years collecting I have a primary chaincase band that is close to the one on my 1955 unit, but way too thin. Any ideas? Is the one on the bike (the wider one) incorrect and the thin one correct or is this from another machine entirely? See pics - this is unused so may be WD...

Prewar was thin. A few days ago some one here was wanting one for a prewar bike.

The thin one was bought years ago as NOS, a bit dirty and came with the matching band. I hoped it would be suitable for my '55 single, but no..

If anyone needs it...

But not on this part of the forum please! It will work well with the Buckingham seal as advertised in the Jampot. (the seal is a mushroom with the "stalk" between the inner and outer cover and the thinner band clamps the head of the mushroom.)
