Running an Alloy Head?

Post by WnRn »

I see a few Alloy Heads for the G80 for sale.

Besides a weight advantage why should consider using an alloy head? tia.

Better cooling but it will usually require not only the head being replaced but also the exhaust pipe as the angle leaving the head is likely to be different. If you are concerned about overheating in your climate a cooling ring fitted to the exhaust pipe near the head would probably help if you don't have one fitted. Much cheaper too.

Interesting thank you. My bike did not come to me with a header pipe so have to get one anyway.
Cheers Ross.
