Pushrod tube washers

Post by Pharisee »

When I took the head off my M18, I noticed that the dished washers that fit over the pushrod tube at the lower end of the sealing rubber had been put in different ways. One had the dished side down, the other had the dished side up. Logic would suggest that they should be fitted dished side down to match the tube but I thought I'd just check with you guys. I had a look in F. Neil's book but he merely says that there are metal washers each side of the sealing rubber; nothing about which way up they should be.
I'm from the Fens.... Gimme six.

Hi

Dished side down in order to push the seal against the bores in the head.
