Hi,
My motorcycle is a "AJS" type "18C", with engine from 1950 with aluminium cylinder.
In the aluminium cylinder, down in the steel cast barrel there is a crack.
Is it possible to fix it with a cylinder liner to avoid any trouble?
Or do you see any possibility to still buy one of these old cylinders?
Thank you in advance,
best regards from switzerland,
Roli

Re: Change of Aluminium cylinder barrel
Have a word with T&L Engineering. www.tandlengineering.co.uk.

Sending the barrel to the UK will not be too costly. I have recently sent a complete set of Suzuki 850 forks to Germany and that only cost around fifteen pounds, so an ally barrel should not cost much to post.
I think fitting a new liner and piston will be quite straight forward.
