Is the some good shops or people here in the States that work on these bikes ? I feel sure I will need some professional help on a bike . I am familiar with BMWs , but not so much AJS . Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Best thing to do is join the club and get unlimited access to the forum. You can post pictures along with questions and that way it's easier to get the best help available.
As you're so far away it'll be worth it's weight in gold as many of our Aussie friends find.
